Consider a split system

I have posted this elsewhere but have installed a 12,000 "inverter style" split system unit on my 55 FC. Super quiet, very low current draw (with no startup surge), and no ugly blister on my roof.

Never seen a ventless one. Where do the combustion products go?

Please post photos once installed. Wondering what max trailer size it would handle and if they are sized similar to roof models or different due to mount location and ducting. Thanks!

That will be nice to keep the AS streamline but will suck to loose the space. I didn't see anywhere that said how loud the unit is, do you know Finn21?

Looks like that unit uses over 16 amps while cooling and 23 amps while heating. Inverter style split system uses about 6.5 amps cooling and 8 amps heating. Can run on a single Honda 2000 generator.

My goal is to maintain the original appearance of the trailer, I have the original rebuilt dixie refrigerator, original dixie stove, original flame thrower heater, sink ect. I realize a 1951 will not have the livabilities on a modern trailer, but I don't care. I don't sleep in it that often anyway. I plan on running the Dometic on two paired honda 2000's when it is not plugged in.
