15m Dometic Smell

Background: Unit is seven years old; we cleaned both condenser and evaporator coils; replaced roof-mount gasket to fix leak.

Problem: Just turned on AC after being off since around Thanksgiving to alleviate 80F temps and near 100% humidity; a daily constant. (Unit had pretty well run non-stop for six months). Coach interior is moisture-saturated judging by papers, leather goods, etc. (Not "sweating" walls or such).

Now, unit gives off an ozone-y smell (electrical?) that does not decrease with time; rather, is constant even after an hour of running on medium fan and fairly cold temp.

Am going to turn it off again, but am wondering if the smell is due to an overabundance of moisture in the air?

This climate is new to me, and I am looking for insights to this daily, high humidity and air-conditioning as well as the source or problem of the smell.

Thanks

My experience with Ozone smell is that the evaporator fan motor is starting to fail

Thanks for that insight. Have been "looking forward" to a low profile A/C unit, but not so soon. Will investigate further to see if a new motor is feasible.
