1 or 2 AC's

We are looking for a 27 to 30 ft AS. My question is: do I need two AC's? Thank you.

Two ACs are nice to have if it is warm. If it's hot, they are a must. It's also really nice to have the 50 amp service even if you're not running two ACs. Between the converter, water heater, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and space heater we have had to actively manage power with 30 amp service.

It's kind of like having too much motor in the TV. No such thing that is what throttles are for. If you don't need it you don't have to use it. When you do need it it is there.

Since you asked. One is enough if you can live with 80 degrees inside with a fan blowing. That's how we keep our house so it is okay with us. Never have suffered. Unfortunately most new AS owners look at their trailers as houses and not campers so they need all the expensive, troubled accessories money can buy. Just my opinion since you asked. We live in Fl, I see you are in Minn, how often do you use air?

One is enough until it dies. Ours did last summer in Arizona. Sure wished we had a second one.

Hi Dick, as snowbird campers we never use our one A/C. As Minnesotans at the lake for 25 years we don't have any in our house. If you're planning on doing most of your camping in northern Minnesota or thereabouts one should be plenty. If you're traveling out of God's country to the south in summer, maybe you should have at least two.

2 ACs with a 30 amp service is probably not going to help you much. We have a 29' and we're going to move the 13.5K to the rear and install a 15K in the middle. We'll run 15K most of the time and run the smaller one when it gets too cold. Of course, we're gutting the AS and putting in a 50 amp service. I fully expect that if we only have 30 amp connection available, we'll just have to use one.
