You can easily attach the PDF to your post. If you scroll down below the post reply window, you'll see a button that reads "manage attachments' which will allow you to upload your PDF and attach it to your reply.

Dometic CU-434 manual

I was concerned the file size might be too big for upload here, since I don't know what the cap is for memory on this site. But, here goes.

Dometic's US site only shows one stove on their website right now, and it's the model with the oven. But if it is the same appliance reviewed by Trailer Life/MotorHome magazines last year, it is actually made by SMEV. When I started looking for the oven model, I found all kinds of SMEV cook tops with 2 or 3 burners. Most of them were on sites from Australia, New Zealand or the UK.
Trekerboy found a different model of Dometic stove/oven called Moonlight 3 from a UK vender who was willing to ship to the US. If you can't find the cooktop you want here, look back a bit in the thread for that vender and see if they have something you like.

The pictures have shown a non-folding cover over the three burners. That could be an "opening the cover" issue in some model trailers with the taller overhead cabinets supporting the stove exhaust fan creating a smaller gap between the hinge point of the cover and the bottom of the exhaust fan. That is why for years there was the bi-fold cover over the burners.

One needs to take some measurements to be sure there is adequate space before ordering the stove.

That's a good point, Switz. In our case, we're building new cabinetry because the original with it's paper laminate was getting a bit ratty. Dometic was nice enough to send me the manual when I asked for information, so we're constructing with this particular appliance in mind. For those who might need something a bit different than CU-434 with it's one-piece glass top, Atwood now has an electronic ignition range on it's website. Don't know if or when that model is available, but if PPL Motorhomes can now track down the Dometic, they might be able to look into Atwood's new stuff.

As for the SMEV cooktops, they seem to be fairly compact. I saw a 2-burner recently in a Freightliner class B motor home for sale at PPL in Houston. It was a little guy. I've received the impression that overseas RVers generally use small trailers and class B type motorhomes. So most of the stuff I've encountered online tends to be made for small spaces.

We just ordered two Dometic/SMEV CU434 stainless steel oven/cooktop units from Bob Jones RV in South Houston (713-910-2949) for $899.99 each plus freight from their store to our installer in Paradise, TX. Lead time is two to three weeks.

The issue for us on the Dickinson was the large burner is in the middle of the back of the stove and would roast our spice racks located above the stove in both the Classic and the 23D. The CU434 has the one piece lift up glass lid that can funnel the burner heat away from the spice racks.

When I was checking for availability Bob Jones was one who said they could get it but the freight charge from their supplier to them and then them to me was an added $400. Glad you got a better deal!

We got our Dometic CU-434 today! It arrived slightly damaged but nothing I can't bend back in place myself. Considering what it took to find this unit I'm reluctant to send it back and ask for a new one on the account of a little bent metal.

Here it is in the cut out that was previously occupied by our "vintage" (also known and old and broken) MagicChef unit. It is slightly shorter and slightly thinner than the old one, so some cabinet modifications are in line.

Do you need to put a pizza stone or tile in the oven to even out the heat like on other rv ovens?

Our CU434 stoves arrived at the Dallas Terminal on the 24th. They were supposed to go to their Ft Worth terminal for delivery, but there was a roof collapse at that Ft Worth terminal on the 23rd. So all the freight is still in Dallas. They expect delivery now to be Monday out of Dallas and we are hoping the stoves do not get damaged in all bedlam at that terminal.

If I got one of these then I'd have to upgraded the ugly Ventline box stove vent. I kinda like the Corian stove top cover on my Classic. Could it be done on the CU434?

I hope someone will do a review on this oven including cooking/baking experience.

Kelvin
