What Model Number
Hi all
I found a thermostat for magic chef ovens on RV Parts Outlet but I don't know what model mine is, the ad says the thermostat works on these listed below. Or it may work anyway, but its $108 and no returns on parts. I have a 1970 Overlander with oven in wall next to sink. The oven works great but burner won't cycle off when temperature is reached so I assume its the thermostat. I have been turning on and off manually when baking.
thanks in advance for any info.
James

Your in wall oven is Magic Chef model # T-933.
I could not find the correct thermostat for it, several years ago.
Our current vendor, says that model, and it's parts was discontinued, about 20 years ago.
Not what you wanted to hear, I am sure, but that's the best we can offer.

Dang
Thanks Andy
I guess I will use the manual thermostat like I have been using, "me". Its really not that bad, as things cook the less you have to adjust because the food starts to hold the heat and it usually not that long of cooking time.
If anyone has an old one they want to part with keep me in mind or if there is another solutions let me know.
thanks
James

1972 Magic Chef wall oven thermostat
I have a 1972 27' international with original Magic Chef wall oven.
In the back of oven is a plate that has.
L T932-25V-M
My oven had been working including thermostat as of last year.
Now it has the same problem as others, burner stays on and never shuts off. Sounds like I need a thermostat, it sounds like they are not made.
What choices do I have, I like the ability to use oven without power so the gas wall oven has been a nice feature.
What options are out there as far new thermostat, repair thermostat or a replacement wall oven that is gas only of similar size.

Steve.
Modifying "ANY" gas appliance to make them work, with substitute parts, carries a "HUGE" liability, not only for the person that sold it to you, but also the person that may have told you what part to us.
All you can do,is the leg work yourself, and see what you can come up with.
Can it be done? Yes.
Will a dealer want to get involved? No
Sorry, I know this is not helping you solve the problem, but I feel that you should also know the other side of the coin.
Maybe you can find a salvaged oven somewhere.

We also had a 1979 AS with Magic Chef oven and the thermostat was bad. Wish I had good news but we looked at many places online, called the Canada Magic Chef parts place (they sent us one but it ended up being electric, not gas?!?) as well as local mom and pop appliance repair shops and none could find one to fit. We spent some time cleaning up the old oven before finding out that it was bad unfortunately.
Hated to do it but we ended up buying a new amana oven instead.

Is your new amana oven a wall oven or range / oven combo.
Out 1972 has the magic chef wall oven.
first choice would be to find a replacement thermostat
second choice would be to replace with a similar size all gas wall oven.
We do a lot of camping with out AC power and have really enjoyed the Gas oven.

I am also interested in a replacement for my wall oven. If anyone has info I would greatly appreciate a share.
Thanks, Jay.

We had a standard countertop stove/oven, not a wall oven and we replaced with the same type (Amana brand).
