Stove vent cover

Has anyone purchased and installed one of these? If so, do you recommend one?

eBay Motors: Airstream trailer stove vent cover fiberglass (item 160072289023 end time Feb-08-07 10:01:24 PST)

Thanks,
Keith

we have offered a different version for years, which in our opinion is much cleaner looking and gel coated.

Andy,
I spoke to a gentleman at Zip Dee who said that several years ago Zip Dee sold Inland RV Center the mold used to manufacture the metal vent cover. Do you have any plans to manufacture the vent cover in metal rather than gel coated fiberglass?
Thanks,
Keith

Spoke with Bob many years ago after Zip Dee no longer sold the metal vent cover to Airstream.

Yes, he was going to sell us that mold, however, he said the reason he quit selling the cover to Airstream was because the mold broke and he was told it was beyond repair.

That being the case, we copied, with Bob's approval, his original design, but eliminated the Zip Dee from the cover.

So the life of the metal cover was over several years ago, but the life of the exact replacement lives on, but made with gel coated fiberglass.

We sell many things to Airstream owners, that must be modified in order to work or fit correctly.

We also have things recreated such as a new mold for the old nylon friction pad used for many years from 1965 and down window operators. Our mold, because of the stronger material used, eliminates the need for the spring that goes with it, that is impossible to find. As a result, someone else has duplicated the original friction pad, using the original material, but doesn't have the spring that is necessary. Of course the price is less, but the product is far less too.

We strive very hard, to come up with equal to or superior parts for the vintage trailer owners, and especially many of those that are no longer available from the factory.
