Stove top/vent a hood

Still cleaning now I'm in the kitchen area and the stainless piece that fits on top of the stove top looks a little dingy I guess you would say. Is there anything out there product wise that will make it more shiney I guess. Also I was going to take down the filter on the vent a hood and I cant get it out there was a screw (1) so I loosened and thought it would just come out is there something I'm missing. Sounds so silly but it just will not come out.
By the way the greased lightning works wonderfull on the walls.
