Stove top ooops

I guess this is all airstream stove tops but don't do what I just did.

Something fell into the open grill/grate thing that is on the stove top between the burners. I saw the screw on each side of that grill and assumed I could just lift it off and get the food. All it did was drop what I guess was the nut from the bottom and caused the plate it was holding under the stove top to move or swing off center a little. Now I see that that top is all one piece and I am not going to go under after it. I will have the dealer look at it when I take it there. Dang.

I have a cooktop, not a stove, but I can just grab the front edge, pull out and up and the top plate surrounding the burners hinges up from the back. YMMV.

I just went to look and tug but don't see how I can do that with this top. That would have been an awesome quick fix. I am going to look in the manual.
