Stove fan and lights quit

I had the stove's overhead lights and the exhaust fan on this morning when they just quit. All other electrical is working in our 2012 AS so am wondering is there a separate fuse somewhere in that unit?

Thanks

Check the fuses in your converter.

I seem to recall that the fuse was somewhat undersized to begin with and you may need to install a larger one than original.

Now, this is a vague memory, not sure of it.

Seriously, be careful upsizing fuses. That can have nasty consequences.

3 amp fuse was original, company approved going to 5 amp. The issue was turn both light and fan on at same time.Another solution was going to Led light bulb.

Generally speaking, fuses blow for good reason. If it blows again, it means you've got an electrical problem somewhere in that circuit.

This was a big deal for at least the 2012 models. Both Airstream and the fan manufacture acknowledged that the fuse installed was undersized. Ours did the same thing and after replacing it with the 5amp fuse (I think), in three years never popped again. Of course, another solution with the 3 amp fuse is don't use the fan or lights at the same time.

Replace the blown fuse with the mini GMC-5, time delay fuse. The stock fuse is European and 3.15 amp for up to 250 volt. That is the same as a 6.3 amp for 120 volt service. Thus a 5 amp mini is appropriate.

I am glad my memory was not too defective and that there was a factory approved fuse size change solution for the problem.

I don't advocate a willy nilly change in fuse sizes, but I did recall that there was something posted on this issue in the past.

Well I replaced the fuse but it did not fix the problem. The lights came on but when I turned the fan on the fuse blew. Not sure if I should go to a higher fuse like some of the older threads say to do.

Exhaust Fan & Lights

Remove the screen from under the hood. In the top right corner is a fuse. It is a small fuse and it is stocked at Radio-Shack. I don't have the part # handy, sorry. There is a problem with this unit. It seems you cn't use both functions at the same time. I've heard from others with the same problem that it is a manufacturing defect. I plan to ask the factory about it when we visit next summer. Hope this helps.

I am concerned that it is more as I have been using the lights and fan together for four years without any issue. So I wonder y it is happening now.

Anyway if u remember the part number I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
John

What is the number of the replacement fuse you used?

Not sure however they did not work. When I get back home I will look for a 5 amp and see if the fan works. If it does not then I believe I have a bad fan switch
