Question Replacing oven with microwave.

I have a 1970 27' overlander & I want to pull the gas oven out of it's hole by the kitchen sink & frame in a small microwave. It also overhangs one of the twin beds. Does anyone have pictures of this conversion or something similar? The space is big enough for mounting a small flat screen TV in addition to the microwave which I may try.

if you are interested in selling that oven let me know..
i have stove top burners but no oven...and would
like to have a way to bake that uses propane in
case i want to save on electricity or on the gas
it takes to generate power while boondocking.

I'm interested in pic's too. A PO of mine made the conversion and it isn't all that *attractive*. I was wanting to replace the micro with a micro/convection.

Really curious about your thoughts of putting the TV there as well.

Oh, I just remembered .... have you seen the episodes from Classic Rides? They restored a '70's Airstream and replaced the oven with a microwave.
From the DIY website, photo's of the product:
AUTOS & BOATS : Auto Restoration & Kit Cars : Kitchen Restoration: Install New Appliances : DIY Network

episode on youtube showing the work:

You gotta check out all the episode clips on youtube - they're gr-r-r-r-r-eat!

Overlander63, How did you wire the MW? Did you set up a separate breaker and run the wire outside, underbelly (mines covered) or inside?

Hi we did not have the wall oven in our Airstream when we got it so put in a SHARP combo. It is a microwave, broiler, oven. We got the small one, 950 watts. I reinforced the old oven cabinet, built a screen frame around the new micro, added a interior electric plug from the adjacent outlet . So far it has worked great. Found the Sharp at Walmart on their web site.
