My time on my 1971 Magic Chef wall mounted over is foobar. Has anyone found a suitable replacement for the original one? I tried a few from the hardware store that I though I could retrofit but without any luck. So if you have found a particular replacement that would work that would be great too.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I have the same problem. It still works without the timer? I just bought the camper and haven't tried it yet. I found an oven down the road in nc for $70 and everything works. I don't know where you are located.

I have a spare timer that didn't work so I opened it up. There's a plastic gear and all the teeth have broken off. Now I see is why it doesn't work. I bought a replacement oven and it has a working timer but I won't use it now knowing there's a plastic gear inside.
Thanks for the replies.. My guess is the same. The teeth on the plastic gear become brittle with heat and time and probably are not worth the effort. I've been looking and trying to fine another mechanical timer from a kitchen store or somewhere. IF a person could find a newer version that has a similar setup maybe there is a way to retrofit it in the old spot with the original knob.
I have not come across anything yet but still looking!

I found an old robertshaw kitchen timer on ebay from the 50s. Got it for $20 and it fit. Has a metal gear. Look at the back of the timers and make sure it has the three nuts holding the bell.
