Princess LP Gas Cooktop (model 2276) - won't ignite

We have this model cooktop in our 2008 Bambi and since we bought the camper we have only had the cooktop work flawlessly a few times. The problem we are having is getting either burner to light. When you press down the knob to ignite the gas there is no "clicking" sound to even ignite the gas. I had called the manufacturer when this first occurred and they told us to take the knobs off, blow into the workings and that should remedy the problem. It did for a while but now nothing seems to work. Sometimes if you push the knob down abruptly with a lot of fource you will get the clicks and can ignite the gas, but not usually and this should not be what it takes to light the burners. Has anyone had issues like this with their Princess Gas Cooktop? If so, what did you do to rememdy it? I am going to call the manufacturer again to see what they say, but wanted to reach out to the community to see what people have been experiencing hands on. We are Airstream newbee's (and new to RV-ing for that matter so any advice anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated). Thanks!

Our older model has a separate igniter knob, when turned you can see the spark at the gas jet, it failed after using it one week, when I took it apart found it used the same mechanism used in a propane barbequer. Plastic gear wouldn't pull back the plunger to make the spark. Maybe you can get AS or Princess to replace defective knob assembly, blowing doesn't fix gears.
