Question Powder Coat Stove

I am looking to change the awful Avacado Green stove top and oven front on the Argosy. I know that painting doesn't work for durability reasons.

Has anyone tried powder coat???

Any other solutions??

I've used powdercoating for other things with good result. Never a stove, but I don't see why not as long as it's not too close to the heat. Not sure how well it holds up to that.

Powder coat

We had our stove top powder coated last year and it has done well. Used a silver powder. Our friend had his done in white. Looks nice. Cost was $55.00

Powder Coat

I don't know why powder coating would not work for you. It is fairly durable and is baked on at a very high temperature during the curing process. I say nothing ventured, nothing gained in this case.

Good luck and kudo's to you for trying to save the original appliance!

There were some great old trailers (shasta, corvette) at a car show here last spring. I asked Larry of Retrorestorations where they found the the relatively new looking stoves in retro turquoise and pink and he told me that they "made" them. He said the only drawback to the powdercoating is that it tends to turn brown around the stove burners and there's not much that can be done to get rid of it.
