Oven Thermostat for Magic Chef T-727, '68 Safari

I can light the pilot, but nothing happens after that. Right now there is a Robertshaw 4750 series thermostat for sale on eBay at a good price (#250370743995). Would this work? It sure looks similar to the one in the Magic Chef.

We have our thermostat rebuilt. It was worth the $100 not to replace the oven as our stove and oven are two different units.

You would have to remove the thermostat and mail it to OKC. Give them a call. My husband removed ours and took it to them.

Yes when we had it done last year as there are no replacement parts for our old oven. I wanted to keep the origional oven if possiable.

The Tappan oven in our 1963 Tradewind is doing the same thing as reported in post #1. The pilot lights, but not the burner.

Is it the mechanism behind the oven control knob that is the culprit, OR is it thermacouple (not sure if that is the correct terminology) in the bottom of the oven?

Tappan and Magic Chefs of that era look like they might have been made by the same manufacturer.

Thanks,

The control on mine has an adjustment screw that adjusts the thermocouple but it is probably clogged like mine was. So I would say that it is probably the thermostat which if yours is like my Model 700 magic chef it has a pilot control knob (left side) and the oven temp on the right. Sent mine off to OKC yesterday to see if they have a fix as CJ found.
