Oven/Range Hood

I am rebuilding the cabinets in a 1973 Safari and in the process will be replacing the Vent Hood as it no longer works and basically takes up an entire cabinet. I am having difficulties finding a new Range Hood that vents vertically so I can utilize the existing outside vent. Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone taken on this task? Thanks in advance!

It appears you wish to retain the functionality of a Vent Hood. If that is the case, a new replacement will take up basically the same amount of space as the existing hood.

If one can be found.

Since your existing Vent Hood fits the existing space so well, I recommend you repair & reuse it. If it is like mine, the toughest part of the task will be cleaning the old grime off of it.

My current vent hood basically has a molded box that takes up the entire upper cabinet. My thought was to find a new 12V that could utilize simple ductwork to the existing vent. Might not be an option, but I thought I would give it a look.
