Smile New Oven /Stove Recommendations?

We need to replace the oven in our 1974 Argosy. We want a gas oven & stovetop but not sure what brand. Any suggestions on what brand or the best place to get this? Any input is appreciated!

So far as I can tell the RV choices are similar enough. It's when one starts to look at marine appliances -- where reliability is of a higher order -- that the choices become more interesting.

Mine has a lot of years though with little use so it will remain for some years to come. Were I wishing to establish what marine range might be better (size, connections, etc) I'd be inhabiting some of the sail and power marine forums.

For that I might ask on this forum some who have or have had cruisers of either type. JamuJoe is one such IIRC as is pbearsailor. I'm sure there are others.

Used ranges become available on occasion as there are those who remove them to use that space otherwise. There are salvage yards and here one wants to know in advance dimensions, etc that apply.

This is what we bought for our '72:

High Output Wedgewood Vision Ranges - Atwood Mobile

The nice thing about the Wedgewood over the Atwood model is the spark knob for lighting the stove top burners. All 3 burners are fully adjustable on ours. Some brands of ranges/stove-tops have 1 or 2 burners that are just on or off - no adjustment, or extremely little adjustment possible.

Thanks to everyone for the advice. It is amazing how expensive these are. We are going to some national parks with no hookups so I need on. Also I found using the grill in the rain isn't fun.

You might look for a used unit from a wreck or a renovation. The RV stoves are common to all brands in general, they are not Airstream specific.

I replaced the terrible original one in my '74 Argosy with a used one (I am not home and can't check the brand) that I bought through the Classified section here for $50 with another $50 for shipping.

I like the new Atwood in my 2014 FC 20, and it would also fit in the Argosy.
