Microwave Oven

Has anyone installed one of these inside of a bambi and where did you put it?
Did you mount it in the Airstream or did you just carry it and placed it on the counter when needed?
Would a small oven be better to use?I am just needing some ideas as I would like to put something like that in the Airstream.I just dont want to use the propane that much since I will have electricity on the campgrounds.
Also...If I were to find a place to mount it,Would it have to be in a certain area so it will not offbalance the trailer in any way when pulling it.I know these things dont weigh that much but I am being very picky with what I do to the Airstream when it comes to weight.Thanks.

Keep in mind that you may not be able to run the air conditioner & the microwave at the same time without popping the main breaker.

Dont wanna do that.seems like it would be to much trouble to deal with.I think I will try another solution unless someone else knows something.

Think outside the kitchen ...

Hi Devoman: Not a Bambi but here's an idea. I installed my 800 watt microwave in the bottom of my tall bathroom closet in my 1964 19' Globe Trotter. It sits above the water heater, so is about 2 feet off the floor. I put a sheet of wood on top of it to keep it in place and act as a raised floor for the closet. Since I use it infrequently, mostly to nuke cold coffee or heat water, its unusual location is no inconvenience. All you need is a space wide and deep enough to hold it along with about 13 inches in clear height. I'm not at all familiar with the new Bambis, but think under the sink, inside a closet, or perhaps just below the bed platform.

Microwave Oven

Hi Devoman,

We put our microwaves on top of the refridgerator in our Overlander and our Tradewind. My husband used a two-sided tape and wood strips to secure them.. Make sure that the microwave you use has the vents on the side.
