Microwave/Convection oven

I have a 31' Sovereign in which it has the original gas oven. Looking at removing it and replacing with a new microwave/convection oven. Does anyone have experience with what unit fits best for this application?

Thanks

I have a Sharp Microwave Drawer in my AS. It has a motorized drawer and lots of good features like sensor cooking. The drawer configuration is nice as well. My microwave is in a different location, but it would be simple to configure to your set up with a filler panel.

Stopped at Jack Sisemore in Amarillo yesterday. He said a microwave/convection is the way to go. Alot will depend on the space! Enjoy!

Sorry to sound like a newbie, but being a microwave... this couldn't be a 12v or propane powered then, right? I love the look of it, but sure wouldn't enjoy boondocking somewhere and being stuck with no way to cook my dinner!

We have considered this swap. In my trailer the micro is in a drawer, and takes up a lot of space. We think replacing the range/oven combo with a cook top and convection/micro would be a nice improvement. It would open up more cabinet space, and still provide a way to bake something now and then.

I just have not jumped on it. I let a good buy on a range top at Jackson Center during Aluma go by, and have kicked myself in the butt for it.

I thing finding a convection/microwave combo that fits would be the first priority.

Regards,

Would like ideas for brands and sizes of micro- convections that are known to be built for the vibrations of an RV. Our MC oven pilot light is broke and no replacement available. We have 17' Caravel.

Is this for RVs? Where can one be purchased? Never seen a drawer!

I love the micro/convection, and we probably use it 99% of the time. We boondock a lot, too, and there are times I donít want to fire up the generator to use it (it is electric), so we use the gas oven.

@jerbear:
I dont think the microwave cares if it is in a house or an airstream I am sure it is intended for a house, but it likes the AS just fine.
I will grab the model number when I get over to the AS next. I ordered mine through the local appliance store. I believe there are several vendors online that may have good deals on them, you just cant test drive them first.

We have a Sharp Micro/Convection & love it. Used ours yesterday to grill hamburgers & were quite tasty. It does take some experimenting & a "just do it" attitude to use some of the settings.

Thanks for the link. It will be next year before we start renovating the interior. Waiting for it to get back to the shop. I have been told by several different folks to get one that is certified for RVs, due to the vibration, and of course websites selling RV ovens say the same thing.
Really thinking more about microwave/convection oven, but all this depends on how we decide to configure everything else! There's only so many options in a
Caravel!

Thanks, will print out info. and put in my trailer folder of ideas!

I saw those, but I was unfamiliar with the brand, so I wondered about it. It didn't look as slick as the known brands, but it was a small picture. I will wait and hear your reviews maybe!

About to start a new job after being off work since August (spent some time with parents in WA. state.) My savings are gone and have some debt, so who knows when work will ever be done on our little Sylvia.
