Finally to my last appliance. So far I have got everything but the oven in my '69 Overlander working with the exception of the Magic Chef model 700 oven.
PO apparently got into it and had readjusted (bent)a part. So I am hoping some one can help me find a service manual for it.I don't like things that go "BOOM!". It's much nicer to get it right the first time.
I have found a source for parts. The thing I question is that there is a bout a 1/4 " to 3/8 " gap between the orifice and the shutter tube of the burner assy. The shutter itself has not been moved as is evidensed by coloration. And the small screw used to hold the shutter adjustment , looks untouched.

Maybe someone has an answer.

Mine is the same way, and it seems to be there to allow air into the mix before the gas gets to the burner. If you look, your water heater should have a similar opening before the burner, also.
