Several years ago I found a promising substitute until I found they wanted $125 with no guarantee.
About the only way I think you will find a replacement is someone who has removed their oven.
Hopefully by now someone has found a source and will post it.

My stove is a 165-2F. It's a 3-burner, porcelain coated oven, very nice. I think it originally came out of the 1970 Caravel.
I had previously replaced the thermostat with something from the "R.C. Co." model ELO or EL0, can't tell if it's a zero or the letter "O". Here's a photo of the replacement:

Can you post a photo of yours? I think a photo of the installed body would be sufficient. My stove is old enough that all the web parts lists show the thermostat as being unavailabe/discontinued. I'm sure there's another replacement out there that would fit.
thanks, Zep

Magic chef thermostat
Can anyone tell if you can replace the old thermostat with a newer molder. Someone surely has come up with something that will work. My service man told me to take the control apart and clean it and maybe that would help. Mine lights and burns but will not hold an even heat. Help.

Ok this is what I found out,I bought a gas valve, I really need the oven thermocouple . How do you know ,which one simple you need? The pilot will be double in size if you need a oven thermocouple, and smaller pilot light if the gas valve is bad.I replaced the gas valve, 117.00. oven thermocouple ordered another 120.00, now my stove is good for 20 more years,by the way i have a spare gas valve for sale, 60.00 with shipping.

Andy,
Were you able to find the thermostat for the model number Noreen had? I am in the same state with ours needing the thermostat (oven control unit where knob connects along with the copper wire going down into the oven). Our Magic Chef oven model number is the same (BT22JA-4TVX-M3). The oven part number is 690134. I can't clearly read the number on the thermostat. It is very close to Noreen's above but a few digits can't be read.
I have called Marcone (marcone.com) and they sent me an electric oven thermostat (almost twice).
Here is a picture of it but it is opened up:
The back side (left large piece in photo) has 3 threaded holes for the connections. The reason I opened it was the copper temperature wire had broken off at the edge of the unit and I thought I may be able to re-connect inside but was futile...

If anyone is looking for this thermostat, TWTwinkie volunteered his off a unit he took out. He didn't know if the oven worked but for those looking, worth a shot. He also said his igniter tubes are in decent shape. See post link below
