Looking for part # / replacement gasket for '72 cooktop burner
I need to get replacement gaskets for the four burners from my '72 Ambassador. I pulled apart the cooktop today to start cleaning out 40 years worth of gunk from previous owners, and the gaskets between the burners and the feeder tubes disintegrated. I looked in the service manual and did a bit of searching but could not find a part number or replacement.
Any suggestions? Also, any other parts you'd recommend replacing while I'm at it?
What is the brand? Pretty sure you can contact the company if they are still in business. If not you can get gasket material from any auto parts store and make them yourself.

Do you know what a learning experience is? A learning experience is one of those things that says "You know that thing that you just did? Don't do that."

I will have to take a look when I get home. As I recall it should be whatever was the original equipment for a '72 Ambassador.
Been digging around a bit more, haven't come across anything as far as gasket replacements. Have however come across more than a few write-ups suggesting high-temp silicone sealant to replace the gasket, which makes some sense to me.
