Holes in stovetop burner

One of my stove burners has burned through, so I have holes in it. The flame naturally comes up through the holes. Is there some way I can fix the holes or do I need to buy a whole new stovetop?

Why not just get new burners? They're a lot cheaper than a new stove, and easier to install, as well.

Off the top of my head: Are you talking about the burner orifices? Are any of the other burner orifices plugged up causing more gas to come out of the hole in question. Can you seal the offending worn office with a small screw or another metal plug.

Depending on the age of the stove, new parts may still be available.

Or, try to find a salvage yard, that might have that stove in inventory.

The big question, is "how in the world did that happen" ?

In my 46 plus years, this is the first time I have ever heard of anyone having that issue.
