furnace

Had to take out furnace today because of exhaust smell. NT30 out of a 1971 Sovereign. Have read thru some posts and am wondering what folks think about either having this one serviced and gaskets replaced or should we replace? If so what would be a good replacement new or used?

Thanks for all the great help we get out of the forum

Repair or Replace

I don't remember what models were affected, I am sure there is a thread on this somewhere, but there is a recall on some Suburban furnaces from the 70's. If you are not sure how to properly check this one out, I would let a qualified service person check it before replacing it. A good purchase to install in the trailer is a carbon monoxide detector and an LP gas leak detector. We don't want anyone "waking up DEAD"

Some carefull shopping will get you a brand new NT30 that will be an exact fit for very little more money than it would cost to have your unit serviced.

Seriously, 35 years is long enough for a furnace.
