FREE magic chef oven in los angeles
i cleaned out the garage yesterday and finally was able to gain access to the magic chef oven i pulled out of my 56 flying cloud so i could take pictures of it.
i have no idea if it works or the condition of it. i don't know if its original. i know nothing about this oven. it looks like fairly decent though. one of the burner grates is broken.
i'm giving it away FREE to anyone who wants to come pick it up in the los angeles area, i live in venice. i'm willing to drive within 30 minutes of my house to deliver or meet you.
this has to be gone by next sunday 2.10. i'd really like to see someone take this, if not, it will go to the appliance graveyard in the sky, it's no longer an option to have it just lying around the garage (my wife has been more than patient with the shell in the backyard). i don't have the time to part it out so please don't ask. if you want the knob, you have to take the whole thing.
here's the pix;

ahhh..if you were only in LA instead of L.A. I'd be right over. somebody needs to get on this because the magic chefs are SUPER stoves! In fact, I have a very small kitchenette in my studio and when I started shopping for compact gas stoves I found the prices for quality units STARTED at around $500 and went up to $1K +. yours actually has much less corrosion than the chrome plate in my '69, it appears to be in decent shape with some work necessary on the pilot tubes etc. it could be brought back nicely....
hope somebody gets it before Fred Sanford does...

Have you tried listing it on your local Craigslist?

Are you by chance going to the vintage restoration rally? I would love to take that off of your hands, but Phoenix is a bit of a stretch.

Perhaps the OP would be willing to put it on the Greyhound bus for you. They used to deilver packages collect. I don't know if they still do that, or not. It might be worth looking into.

fotochop, thanks for the link, i'll look into it. when i get a free moment, i plan on calling around to see who will take it for recycling. i certainly don't want it going to the landfill.
