Adding Microwave to '99 Safari

Hi all.

Does anyone know if you need special wiring to add a microwave to a unit which has never had a microwave? (Ours has an oven with cooktop.) I know in our home we have a specially wired outlet for our microwave and I didn't know if we could just plug it into an existing wall outlet or not.

Thanks.

We use a small microwave ($40 special at WalMart) plugged into a standard wall outlet. The outlets in our trailer are 15 amp standard outlets. 15 amps times 120 volts gives you 1800 watts. Lots of 1000 to 1200 watt microwaves available really inexpensive these days.

Just manage your loads. Nothing else plugged in there should be running while the microwave is on.

Such a great idea, thanks for the idea! We thought a microwave would make quick warmups a snap when we overnight while on the road.
