69 31' Sovereign Stove top

Our 1969 31' (S) needs the stainless steel stove top resurfaced After 38 years of wear and tear, rust and pitting have shown up on the surface. The stainless steal tray under the knobs, around burners and the lid that covers entire surface.

Is there such a thing as resurfacing? If so what can be done? I am sure all replacement parts will come from salvage and be in the same shape.

If it's SS which I doubt, it just gets polished.

I think it's plated steel, if so bring to any plating applicator and have it redone.
