Sometimes over rough roads that probe just simply falls off- or the metal part that slides up and down has just fallen off and is lying on the shelf-

Is improperly balanced running gear the only cause for anything to break?

I think bad roads around here would beat it to death even with Centramatics...
My Velcroed curtains in my other trailer used to fall off the windows.
I come in the trailer and I be like, "Hey! Where's my curtains?"
Curtains be behind the couch.
I have found the metal part you slide up and down to control temperature just lying on the shelf. I assumed it vibrated off over time traveling bad roads.
All roads are getting worse. Ain't nobody got no money to fix no toads...

Lack of proper running gear balance (vibration).

If the aluminum tube is vibrating, it will fatigue and break.

1997 safari Dometic RM 2652

Correcting prev input. RM 2652 is correct model. Replaced OE thermister with a Articca adjustable thermister. NO change. Fridge still too cold. AC power only so far. Have NOT run on propane yet. After changing the thermister, what part would be next to look at ? Have been turning fridge on and off to keep temp somewhat under control. Something needs to be telling the AC heater to stay on vs: cycling on and off to maintain proper temp. All input is appreciated.

Brand new fridge in our SOB never kept things cold enough.
Brand new fridge in our Bambi keeps things too cold.
We consider this a very pleasant "problem" to have.
Don't necessarily believe we've bought two new RV's in a row with broken fridge parts.
Regardless, thank you Airstream for besting our SOB in yet another aspect.

You might try a recirculating fan in the refrigerator section. This will help even out cold and hot spots on the inside.

Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Camco-44123-Fr...frigerator+fan

Note: Item also available at WalMart and Camping World.

Please provide the thermostat probe pic or part number. Does Inland RV carry it. Your input is greatly appreciated. Jim C.

Depends on the reefers manufacturer and reefers model number.
