Question What are these things in the door?

We recently purchased a 75 Ambassador with the original dometic fridge. We're packing up for our first trip and I'm trying to figure out what this row of plastic projections are sticking out of one of the interior door shelves. I'm sure they have a function, but I cant figure it out. Any ideas? I'd like to utilize them. Right now they are just making wasted space.

Those plastic "fingers" help keep things from bouncing around or jumping out of the shelf, when the trailer is in motion, and hitting bumps.

They do a good job.

They keep things from sliding around when you are going down the road. Do not remove them.
