Today's RV Fridge Build Quality

Was excited today to take delivery of the next big purchase toward my Airstream project, a Norcold 641.3. Only then to open the box and feel quite a let down with the flimsy plastic build, particularly the door weight and hardware.

During my research I've read plenty of complaints about this problem with modern fridges but I still didn't expect it to be this bad. It was my assumption that all of the fridges available today are like this, but now I wonder are there any higher quality builds out there? Who makes a high-end absorption fridge these days?

I'm happy to know that the reviews show my fridge of choice operates fairly well for others and I appreciate the weight savings factor. Nonetheless, I'm still shocked and already tempted to upgrade the hinges and latches with sturdier hardware, if it's possible.
