Hello everybody! Could anyone tell me where I could purchase a thermostat for a Dometic RM60 model refrigerator. It is from a 23ft 1973 Safari.I would apreciate any info, I also would consider buying used if anybody has one that wants to sell.
Thanks, Rudy in Pennsylvania
Thanks for your answer. Yes it works on LP and I checked the stat with a ohm meter and it is open, so I jumped the terminals and it works fine, so the electric thermostat is bad.
Send LEWSTER a pm he is a great help on the Dometic products.
LOOKING FOR ME ???????????????

Lewster I was looking at this and I have a similar problem. I did not see any answer to the original. Where can I get a thermostat for the Dometic refer. My problem appears to be in the LP side. No matter where I have it set the flame does not change and it freezes in the refer portion. Any help would be appreciated.

Ron,
Sounds like your t/stat is frozen closed and is not letting the LP burner cycle as needed.....thus running wide open. I don't believe that Dometic supports the RM-60 any longer with service parts. You might try Out-of-doors mart (a forum member) or google RM-60 parts or old Dometic parts and see what comes up.

Thanks very much I did just one problem which maybe the whole problem. The dial was broken internaly thus when I though I had it on 2 or 3 it was probably set much higher. I managed to use the dial for the electric and turn it down. I will keep an eye on it. I will see if I can get a new dial through Out of Doors mart or maybe there is a bone yard some where.
Ronsgto: I was able to find a tstat at:
PPL's RV Parts Superstore
10777 Southwest Freeway (Hwy 59 South)
Houston, Tx 77074-9829
1-800-755-4775
Mine was the electric tstat, I believe it cost me around 35.00 and they have both gas and electric, since they are located in Houston I don't know if they are back in operation after the hurricane, give it a try, also they have a catalog on the web, go thru Goggle you will see it there. Good luck, if they don't have it, I have to look but I think I have another supplier on my favorites.

Try Snyders Refridgeration, somewhere in PA. Also there are a couple of places in Elkhart that have a lot of new old stock parts. I don't recall specific contact info, but I know it has been previously mentioned in posts. You should find Snyders on the internet. But hopfully a forums member has the contacts and will post it to this thread.
