Replacing the ignitor on a Dometic RM100

I have a Dometic RM100 on my 1979 Airstream. Pleasant surprize, it seems to work pretty good. The push button ignitor does not. The wire going to the ignitor tip has been either cut or burnt and there is not enough wire left to splice the two together. I have not been able to figure out how to pull the whole thing apart in order to either add some wire or replace the whole ignitor with a grill ignitor like you would buy at home depot.

I also need to plastic latch used to close the doors on this thing while traveling. Mine busted loose. Any ideas where to buy?

I was messing with my ignitor knob the other night and I accidentally pulled it out. How do I reconnect it?
