Replacing RM100 fridge....troubles?

Due to a combination of little irritants and the scary stories of old units leaking ammonia and causing fires, I think it's time to consider replacing the original RM100 fridge in my '77 Sovereign.
The Dometic website shows the RM2820 to be the logical choice, as it's almost exactly the same dimensions as the RM100.
Has anyone done this swap? I'm trying to decide if "almost" is close enough for me to attempt to do the job myself...

Well....uh...not quite.
