Replacing 78 Caravanner Fridge

I have boght a 78 Caravanner and the PO replaced the fridge with a cheap AC only unit. I am new to Airstreaming and I would like to replace it with a dual system (Propane & AC). Does anyone know the model that should have been in the Caravanner originally? The local CW has a number of Dometics, but I am unsure which is best or should I buy a rebult unit? Any reccomendations would be appreciated.

I have a '76 Caravanner and mine is a DM77D . The width is 28 5/8 and the height is 56 1/2 . Hope that helps

Thanks guys. I can't find either of those models on the Dometic website. Can you think of a resource besides a dealer?

I just replaced an older Dometic with a new model. Take a look at the Dometic refrigerator replacement page at http://www.dometicusa.com/media/replacement.png
You should be able to get a model that closely matches your present unit. I ordered mine from Palomino RV in Michigan. Super fast service and great pricing. Many of the forum members have used them. BTW, Palomino's telephone number is 269-432-3271. The installation is not very difficult if you can find a replacement that is similar in size. Good luck! Juergen

The model I posted is wrong , it should be RM77D , and the width is 24 5/8 not 28 5/8 . It's a 2 door with seperate freezer . I think the closest new replacement is Rm2820.
