Refrigerator temp.

I have a Dometic RM2820 Classic refrigerator. The fridge will be 5 years old this July. The temp control is set on 4. I am currently in a rv park. The nightime temps here have been steady and in the mid 40's. The first morning here the fridge temp was 44 degrees. The second morning the temp in the fridge was 37 degrees. This is what the temp has been in the past while set on 4. This morning the fridge temp was back up to 44 degrees and is currently at 45 in mid afternoon. Any idea as to what would cause the variations in temp? I get the same results when I run it on gas.

I have the same refrigerator in my unit. I just replaced the door gaskets for the same reason and it solved the problem.

To test: close the door with a dollar bill held between the door and gasket. Tug gently on bill -- you should feel some resistance. If not, the gasket just isn't flexible enough anymore to make a good seal. Not a big deal to change but about $100 for a new gasket set.

Thank you for the info, the door gasket tested good.

Be careful; bacteria start to grow above 40 degrees and you risk the chance of food poisoning.

Depends where you take the temp, 42 is standard temp but where I have the thermometer bulb. Mine reads 29, I only use it as a guide. relative temp to know fridge is running.

Are you level? The quick check is to shut it down, defrost, let it sit for 24 hours with the door partially open.

I am level. The fridge has been on for about a week. Defrost? There is no frost on the coils.
