refrigerator roof vent "collar?"

My POS PO removed the propane fridge, cabinet, vent, and vent cap and installed a new cabinet and small electric fridge. They installed a flat aluminum patch on the roof. I now have a new propane fridge, a pretty good used vent scoop, a new cabinet almost completed and a flat aluminum patch on the roof. Is there a prefabbed "collar" that goes into the hole that I will have after I remove the flat patch? Or do I have to have one fabricated?

Thanks!!

Hi yes there is an inner collar and screen assembly and an outer vent lid for the fridge vents. Here is a link to a clasified ad for someone who is pareting out a trailer. He will have both parts that you need.

Thanks wasagachris, but it seems to be local pick-up only, no shipping. A trip to Chula Vista isn't in my future.

Well the local pick up is new. I have been in contact with them regarding a compartment door, some trim and a window. I will have to call him now and see what`s up with that.

Sally I just spoke to him if you paid for the shipping he will send it to you. You would have to pay for the part and shipping first. Call him in the new year and talk with him.

Thanks again, wasagachris. But it also sounds like he doesn't want to remove anything. I would think the collar would take a bit of work to remove, but I will give him a call.

I purchased a new inner collar with screen. It seems to be designed to fit inside a 20 1/4" across roof opening. The patched-over roof opening in my Argosy is only 15" across and the old vent scoop is only 17" across. Is it feasible to cut down the new inner collar to fit my soon to be reopened 15" roof opening? It looks like something even I might be able to do, but thought I might check with the experienced Airstreamers out there.

Thanks, Sally
