Mike --looks like you have lots of advice and ideas---here's one more--our fridge did a similar thing ---found the door was adjusted low and after a few months of use it settled ever so slightly , enough the plunger on the interior lamp switch did not contact the door leaving the lamp on. --- found the problem by accident as I touched the lamp after opening the door and found it to be hot. obviously a simple check and simple repair-----pieman

Thanx Lew, I am curious about when the design changed. I never ran the 89 fridge more than 1" or maybe 2" off level...guess that was enough!

Oh well, new fridge should be done today, my wallet will be quite a bit lighter, but at least we'll have a new (more "tolerant") fridge...
