Refrigerator Fan
I have a 2007 16' CCD and I took the upper access door off and noted that the fan was blowing air out of the vent. Is this the direction the air is suppose to flow?

Dear CCD,
I have replaced that fan on 3-16's in the past year. The owners complained that the fan was keeping them up at night from the noise, and the fridge was not getting sufficiently cold.
I would suggest that you remove the fan and replace it with a fridge booster kit from Snyder's Refrigeration (RV_Cool on these Forums). I am not associated with Mr. Snyder except that I have installed maybe a dozen of nis kits. They are properly designed and really WORK! (quietly too )

Yes, the fan is blowing in the right direction (outward) to take heat away from the frig mechanics...and yes, the factory-installed fan is not the quietest, as Lew points out... What's more, our fan was mis-wired at the facatory and was running continuously rather than going off & on with the temperature fluctuations as they are supposed to... Fixed under warranty.

Would these Snyder fans make a difference on a 2007 27FB with a refridge roof vent?

Yes it will. It has made a dramatic difference in the cooling capability of our fridge (93 Excella, newer fridge though). Worth the small amount of money and (some) effort to install.

You've got it right!
The Snyder kit directs the airflow in an upward direction across the condenser coils, drawing cooler air from the bottom vent. Plus, it includes a new, repositioned thermostat that properly reads the coolant temp as it is entering the condenser, providing the fan with accurate information.
Just for a test, I had my fan turned off in my 19CCD for a day. It was 90*+ here in FL yesterday, and the fridge temps went into the 50's. When I turned the fan back on, they are now headed into the low 40's and will probably end up in the high 30's, where they have been. And to add to this, the side of the trailer with the fridge is facing south into the sun most of the day.
The kit will work on any fridge!

This is an older thread, are these Snyder kits still avaialble for fan replacement? Brad says on the 23' the fan is keeping him up late at night and sounding a bit like its about to go anyway. He wants to replace it with something quieter and perhaps put in an on/off switch. Though if its quiet enough I wouldn't think he would have to turn it off. He also says it vibrates the wall adding still further to the noise issue.

I found another thread there are several with the fan kit web site and it looks like it is current. I will direct Brad over to there unless others have different ideas on how to they solved the problem in their AS. http://www.snydersrvrefrigeration.com/
I also found that thread mentioned previously onanother definitive fix by one of the members and it is here.

Didn't Rich Luhr also replace his fan or make a fan modification in his Airstream blog?

They are still available and work well. I can barely hear mine. See http://www.airforums.com/forums/f425...aes-44474.html.

I've wondered if our Safari 25' FB has a fan in the refrigerator vent. I've looked for one, can't see one, but that doesn't mean there isn't one there. Anyone know?
By the way, the temp in the fridge is consistently 38˚ on the #3 setting regardless of the the outside temp or sun. We had a fan for the inside that ran on batteries; when we got it home, we found it had no switch. We'd forget about it and then when we would take another trip, the batteries were dead. After replacing the batteries a couple of times, it wouldn't stay together. We wired it together with some twist ties, but after the last time the batteries died, I just chucked it. Another quality product from CW.
