Refer Won't Stay Running on LP

A side by side 10 cubic ft. refrigerator won't stay running on LP.

I have cleaned out the flame tube with a brush, cleaned the slots in same. All other LP appliances work fine.

This happens anytime whether or not there are other LP appliances running.

Any comments & help is appreciated.

Rich.

Check the LPG pressure. It must be between 11 and 13 inches of water column pressure. 12 or 12 1/2 is preferred.

Also, the "oriface" must be cleaned. If it is partially plugged, then what ever else you do won't matter, because the reefer will not cool properly.

I have a 93 Excella and had the same problem you are having. It would not run on gas. I finally found out that there was a factory recall on the Dometic Fridge in the 93's. They had bad control boards. Problem is the recall was in the mid-90's and Dometic would not help me. It should have been corrected then, but the previous owner failed to take it in. In my case, the board and part of the wiring harness was changed and that cured it. I think the cost was about $75.00. Of course Inland Andy has worked on these things forever, so I would follow his advise before I hauled in a new board and wiring harness. Good Luck. Jeff

Wink Refer wont run on LP

One thing you might check is the thermocouple. The thermo needs to be in the flame. If the thermo is in the flame, the flame starts and then goes out, the thermo maybe defective and needs to be replaced.
