Refer won't light on Gas

I have a 1996 Excella, 28 foot. The refrigerator works well on electric but I can't get it to light on gas. I tried several times to no avail. There is plenty of gas in the tanks. The stove and hot water heater work.

I've had other RV's that took a number of start tries before they would light on gas, but not this trailer. Does anyone have any trouble shoot suggestions I might try before taking it in for repair?

There are a few common reasons.

Spider nest at the burner orifice. Stink bugs in the burner tube. Air in the gas line. Bad thermocouple.

In this order and attempt to light as you go. Crack the gas line at the gas valve till you smell gas. Remove the burner tube and check for stink bugs or spider nest. Lastly attempt to light while the burner shield is off so you can see the flame. If it lights for a second or 2 and goes out make sure the thermocouple is in the flame. If it is and still will not stay on replace the thermocouple.

Another thing to check is the re-igniter. I've had 2 fail over the years. It's the electronic spark generator that actually lights the flame. When you power on can you hear a little tick tick trying to ignite a flame?
This is often the culprit but blame placed on the flame sensor, thermocouple, spiders, jet clogged.
