Refer removal '08 28W?

I'm in the process of installing a solar system and wondered if anyone new what it would take to remove the refer from my 08 Safaril 28W? I would like to run the conductors for the solar down the vent and behind the refer, looks like it wouldn't be possible to take this route w/o pulling the refer. Thanks

I thought I would post that I figured out how pull the fridge. There are four screws in the face frame and two screws through the hat channel that the fridge site on, accessible from the rear access panel.

I think you'll find a few more than that, after you get into it. There should be screws holding the fridge to the floor, screws holding it to the cabinetry (and vice-versa), and screws holding it to the inner shell. Most I've seen have about 18 screws holding the fridge to things. There will also be 120 volt, 12 volt, and LP connections. Take photos of the dismantle process, so you don't get halfway back together with it, and be scratching your head over where the extra pieces go.

Something "extra" to consider while you've got it apart, is adding a 12 volt muffin fan, like you'd find in a computer, to the back of the fridge area. Some trailers already have them, if yours doesn't, I'd recommend one, with a switch so you can turn it on and off. It will help the fridge keep its cool on hot days.

isn't the unit 'pre wired' for solar?

this is the topic of many threads but the wiring can usually be accessed WITHOUT pulling the fridge.

Yes, there should already be a prewire for solar. I ran into some of this on curbside between my stove & sink a couple months back - http://www.airforums.com/forums/f163...ght-58167.html

Now ... where it is accessible through the roof? Connections to your electrical system? More good questions.

Here's a thread on fridge removal - http://www.airforums.com/forums/f425...air-23857.html. As noted in post #9, John once described for me how very tight fridges are wedged in there -- another good reason to go ahead and order with a flat screen installed so this doesn't have to be done later.

The manual on my 98 Excella say that it is prewired for solar through the
Refrig vent and that the wires are located behind the Refrig, even gives the color of the wires.
