Refer Blues Part II/ 71 Tradewind
Just got my 71 Tradewind back from the RV guy after a month. These guys do seem competant and fixed a bunch of stuff (for a bunch of money/ $85/hr).
The problem I had with my origianl RM60 (I think) runs on 110 but I could not get the pilot to stay lit. The RV guy cleaned the burner, no new parts and had it running OK on the bench. I told them I would reinstall it to get the coach back sooner and save some bucks. When I hooked it up, same problem. Burner will light on pilot but when I release the pilot it goes out.
The stove lights fine. I had a new water heater installed which I assume the RV guy also was able to light. The regulator is very old, not original but same vintage.
Before I take it back to the RV guy (4 hours driving and $40 in gas for drop off and pick up) any ideas I should try) such as:
1. replace thermocouple (cheap)
2. replace safety valve (not cheap)
3. replace regulator????????
PS/ Another thing, there is no way to get at the burner from the outside access panel. The only way is to remove the bulkhead next to the door. It seems like a good idea to me to put in a small access door or panel in the bulkhead (since I now have it out) so I can access the burner without taking the coach half apart.
