Previous owner told us the fridge worked on propane, but not on 110 AC. We pulled the fridge out of the cabinet, and he was right about the 110, for sure. The element was not only open, it had fried so badly that the tube that holds it is burned and ruptured. No way we're getting that thing out without damage to the boiler tube. Alongside the burned out element holder, there's a new and unused tube that we think might have been designed to hold the
12v element that we don't have (nor do we have wiring to support one).
Question is can we insert a new 110 v element in this unused element holder? This assumes, of course that we cut off the old 110v element flush with the top of what's left of its holder tube.
Will post pictures tomorrow.
