Propane light doesn't go off

Hi all,

I have a Dometic RM3762 that works well - except the little propane light stays on when it shouldn't.

It's a 2way fridge, and we keep it in "auto" mode - which means it should run on AC when we have shore power. At our last RV park, the light went off 20-30 mins after initially turning the fridge on, but now, the little LP light never goes off.

I think we've checked all the obvious things - enough power (30 amp), no loose wires, searched airforums for similar problems. Does anyone have anything else I could try to troubleshoot this? Again, the fridge works well, it just doesn't switch to AC as far as i can tell.

One of these came into the shop doing what yours is doing, and I replaced the circuit board to get it working again.

We don't have our trailer at home right now to verify this but we had the same problem. I found if I turned the fridge off, then back on, it would reset to run off electricity rather than propane.

Interested to find out the solution

Deke

will be interested to see what the solution is. I think the refrigerator on our 2006 Safari is dual operation but haven't had the chance to put it on a level surface to check it out yet. So whatever info you glean will be helpful should we run into this issue

Deke, have you tested whether you have 110 in your rig? I just ask because it's the easiest thing I can think of. Even though the post is a 30amp post, is the circuit breaker on?

I believe mine has a plug that plugs into a 120 v. outlet that can be accessed through the access panel on the outside. Probably you have already checked to see if the fridge is plugged in. Also, check for voltage at this outlet. Otherwise, I like the direction that overlander63 has headed you.

Thanks for all the replies. I just went out and popped open the circuit box cover to find one of the black wires was loose. It must have rattled loose during the last move. Luckily, all I needed to do was re-seat that wire and we're back in action!
