part 2

We went over 4,000 miles in our safari w/the recently recalled dometic refrig fix..the refrig worked fine all the way throughout the trip..came back home, unplugged it from the 12 volt..and it never came back on when we switched over to the electric system!..the a/c works. Does anyone have any suggestions they'd like to share?..thnx

Welcome back Paula. Sounds like you and Steve had a great trip.

What do you mean you disconnected it from the 12 volts?
If you unplug shore power will it run on propane?

Hi Az, Steve say the controls won't even come on ..and the control panel runs on the 12 volt..he says that is charged up..according to the battery charger. but still should come on it on ac, right?

If you had the original fridge that came with your trailer (if it worked), this would not be a problem. The newer units need 12 volts to run the circut board. Without the 12 volts it is dead. Steve needs to meter the 12 volt line to the fridge. It could be just a blown fuse. Do other 12 volt items (lights - water pump) work?

We fixed the problem..it was a loose wire that came off the battery. 12volt to the refrig..must have come off just as we neared home..thnx!

Well if it's going to break, that was a good time. Glad it was simple.
Welcome home.
