odd switch

While dismantling our trailer, found an on/off switch on wall next to fridge. Its connected to a small fan sitting behind fridge. Does anyone know its purpose?

Most absorption refrigerators require very generous venting to get good cooling of the condenser coils. Sometimes a fan was added to compensate for less than adequate venting.

I am sure someone put it there to help with cooling. A fan behind the fridge pointed up can remove heat helping the fridge cool faster.

I am absolutely amazed at the quick and helpful responses I'm recieving with our trailer problems. This has got to be one the BEST web sites I have ever seen! Much thanks to all P.S. We'll have a lot more questions before we're through dismantling this baby....
