Norcold N300 LP inop
I bought a used N300 and installed it today. It works on 110 but the LP will not work. The flame lights and the indicator goes green but the flame goes out as soon as I release the button. I have read that this is a common problem but not finding any posts that list the root cause. So if anyone here has had this issue, what did you replace to resolve it?

Does your model have the "storage" mode? If so, there should be a rocker switch between the refer and freezer doors...make sure it is in the correct position.

Must be an incompatibility between the forum and my android device...what I typed, and what is visible on my end is the word storage. Yikes! It must have done something to it when I put the quotation marks around it. So, look for a storage switch.

Does this model have a thermocouple? Most of my gas appliances have one and repairs are easy and inexpensive if the thermocouple fails. Without it you will never sustain a flame.

I don't see a storage mode switch. Just off, lp and 110. It does have a thermocouple, but I have read a few things online about high resistance in a wiring harness and a few other issues as well. I guess I'll start with the thermocouple first as that seems simple enough. Thanks

Might as well replace the pilot light assembly while you do the thermocouple. They are linked together...

So I took the back cover off, blew out the burner and cleaned the thermocouple. I tweaked it a bit so it was more directly in the flame. Tried again and bingo! Works great. I've tried it again several times to make sure it would stay lit and it does. Thanks for the help.

Thought I would post an update. I hadn't used the fridge on lp since November. We are heading out next week to Lake Tahoe with no hookups so I figured I'd make sure it was still working(how unlike me, I usually wait until the day before). I went to light it and I had the same issue as before. Will not stay lit when the button is released. So I found the little wiring update kit, part 628119, on amazon for five dollars and figured I'd try it. I changed out the wires and it lit and stayed lit. I had tried it again right before changing the wires so I know changing them made a difference. I wish I would have known what the "kit" was as I would have made it myself. It's just two new wires with better crimps and terminals on them. Hope this helps somebody.

Norcold N300R
The new Norcold I got with the last Airstream I got...was a new, unused , Norcold. Same problem noted here....it will ignite but I cannot get it to remain lit. This is an AC only and propane unit only. No 12v ops. Anyway the kit mentioned here and photos are not the same as mine. Any experts out there?

Hey MR,
Mine looked completely different too. Couldn't find anything like what was pictured, on the back of the refrigerator. Then I followed the gas line up and there it was on top. Hope I don't have to remove the stove top.
