Bought this little refrigerator fan off E-Bay and I have to say it is pretty neat (and, no, I have no ties to the seller) -- no more batteries for my little cube fan.

Wired it into the light housing. Basically a stamped anodized aluminum mout with two 2" muffin fans. Very quiet. Hoping it helps keep the frost down a mite...

I have one of those that I used in my old fridge. It's even the same color. Someone posted instructions about how to make those a while back, but I can't find the thread right now. The fan unit is sold as a hard drive cooler. I got mine on the web from Singapore if I remember correctly. I attached heavy duty paper clips, the black kind with the silver handles to the top and bottom and slid them onto the fins of the fridge. Then wired that to the light. Helped some, but the old fridge was too far gone to really make a judgment.

I have not bothered to hook it up in the new fridge, but it does cross my mind every now and then.

I've made a circulating fan with a 12 volt computer fan. I picked it up at Best Buy. the fan cost about $12, the wires were scrap. I pulled the thermostat wire out with a string, a red & a black wire out of fridge to the rear where power & controls are. I then used the string to pull the thermostat wire back to where it belonged. I used the red & black wires for power to the fan. I also put in an inline fuse to protect the fan. This way I just tap into the 12volt fridge power supply for fan.

Do you have pics of this mod?

Is your fridge the original? If so maybe there's hope for doing this to mine.

Let us know in a week or so if it's still working! We got one at CW last year, and the dumb thing lasted a week and pooped out.

Meanwhile, I bought several computer fans, one of which is now a fan for the fridge. Geez, it's even got little blue LEDs on the corners.

Will report any failure toot suite. I have to go find a 4" muffin for my cooling fan behind the reefer -- my original lasted a year or so and was salvaged from an old desktop PC. Having air moving back there helped a lot, especially down here in the tropics.
