Does anybody have a suggestion as to where I can find a good and economical selection of gas/electric powered microfridges? My 18 foot (i.e., small) '54 Wanderer's fridge was replaced in the 1980's with a unit that is now history itself ... so I'm going state of the art, by default.
Many thanks,

By 'microfridge' are you referring to the small 1.50-2.0 cu. ft. 'dorm style' fridge? Both Norcold and Dometic make a few of them. They can be had in 2-way (LP/120VAC) or 3-way (LP/120VAC/12VDC) operation.
A lot of folks on the Forum have used pplmotorhomes as an appliance source. You might search some appliance replacement threads for other sources.

One comment about appliances. There is a company in Bloomfield (near Boulder) that makes the most robust durn truck/camper combos I think possible. Like tanks. One of their features is that everything is either diesel or electric, so there's no gas or propane in the vehicle. Most of their appliances are European, like diesel burning water heater and space heater. The most interesting appliance, however, is the fridge. It's electric and uses a compressor, just like a home fridge, but very efficient. I think it's almost completely able to be powered by the solar panel on the roof. Space age, for sure.
