New Dometic...warranty work?

I've just returned from a 3 week trip out West....and the first trip for my newly installed RM2820.
The auto changeover from gas to electric and back really works great...and that electronic ignition is wonderful!
The only issue I have is that, even on the maximum cool setting on the thermostat, it only gets down to around 43 or so, if I remember the exact temperature correctly...but anyway, it was just above the "safe" area on my fridge thermometer. It was this same temperature whether on gas or 110v.
What does one do for, I'm assuming, warranty work on a new Dometic? Are they troublesome to deal with?

Guy -

Do you have a fan on the backside of the 'fridge?

As a test, I put a small 110 desk fan in the outside access door, and pointed it to blow "up".

It did a world of good as far as the performance goes - you might want to run a "test" - on two similar days - one with the fan, one without.

Remember, it takes a long time for an absorption type of system to stabilize.

Have you checked the door rubbers for a good seal?

What model is it. Is it one that does not have a user adjustable thermostat? It could need a different fixed temp board. Just a thought

Guy,
My 2820 did the same thing. I took it back to the installing dealer and he checked it for a week with same results. Then he replaced the whole thing under warranty. It turned out that it was my thermometer that was bad. I do need to run it at one setting below max to get 38 in the frig. I bought a new thermometer and eveything works fine. My old thermometer was a remote digital that I bought from Camping World several years ago and it worked fine in the old frig. but finally went bad. The new thermometer was bought at Walmart. I do find that the new frig is slower on startup than the old one. BTW, I now run the frig all the time on its lowest setting. This was recommended by the dealer to keep every thing circulating. It seems like things seem to settle out when it is off and this promotes corosion and failure. Don't know if this is true or not, but it does not cost much to keep it running and it is ready to go when I am.
