Turned the refrigerator (dometic 2510)on a couple of days ago cooled down just fine freezer single digits lower compartment low 30s. Yesterday it warmed up to 20s in freezer and high 40s in bottom on max setting on elec. Switched to propane last night and no change. Leaving in the morning has anyone had this problem or any ideas what may be wrong. Refrigerator is two years old and has worked great up to now. Did turn it off this morning for about 45 min and rocked trailer up and down with tongue jack then restarted it on propane waiting now to see if it helped. Trailer does sit level.
Opening the fridge to check temps, lets the cold air out and the warm air in.
This could be even more of an issue if the fridge is empty, because cold stuff in the fridge retains cold more than air.
When prepping a fridge for a trip, it's advisable to put cold items the fridge while you are starting the cooling process. It makes it easier for the fridge to do it's job.
Forgive me for stating the obvious, if you already know this, and I am preaching to the choir.
I freeze my drinking water, and put it in the fridge. It can make a difference, especially if the fridge is not working up to par. Freezing pre made casseroles is another option. You may end up saving expensive food from spoiling.
Don't want to jinx my self but has been running on max propane for about six hour freezer is on 5 now and bottom is at 37. Hope the turning off and restarting fixed it time will tell turned thermostat from max back to 5 will see if it holds temp.
